I'm selling my 1981 Dean Z, which is in great condition for its age. Vintage Dean Zs are hard to come by and this is a superb all original example, which I bought from Nationwide Guitars in the US. Mahogany body and neck, bound rosewood board and stock DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups. This is a resonant, chunky sounding guitar and is surprisingly versatile - great jazzy cleans to be had from the neck pickup and the bridge pickup gives you superb blues and rock tones. Some dents and scratches here and there but structurally sound with no cracks or breaks. Comes with original hard case. I would prefer collection but am happy to courier to UK addresses at cost or meet at a reasonable distance from Edinburgh. Happy to answer any questions - feel free to PM me. £1,800 (would consider a p/x for a Fender 68 Deluxe Reverb or 68 Vibro Champ Reverb, thanks).

When I was 19 which was in 1981 this exact same model guitar shown here for sale was the very first decent quality guitar I bought, Same color and same model.
I bought it from Livewire in Cardiff which is now long gone, Incredible guitar and I absolutely loved it. Mine had a sort of V shape to the back of the neck.
I gigged it for a couple of years and sadly one saturday afternoon I dropped it in a rehearsal session and it hit a stone floor and the neck split down the middle, So... A bit of nostalgia for me this one.
If anyone is looking at this guitar and you are not familiar with them I can confirm the early USA Dean guitars were incredible instruments.
Saddened I cannot buy this, GLWS

Many thanks @kipple. Sorry to read your Z met that fate! This one has the large v profile neck too - so easy to play. I love vintage Deans and Hamers. The build quality is phenomenal and they still sell for a fraction of the price of Gibsons of the same vintage. I also think the headstock mass and string through body design significantly increase sustain. Both the Deans I've owned have been very resonant. I hope you get the chance to own another one day...
