Noob question about converting 6-point to 2-point

Forgive the dumb-ass question, but I'm correct in thinking that one could fit a 2-point trem to a body that previously had a trad 6-pointer by simply reaming out the end two screw holds to accommodate the studs, right?

Obvs the four middle screw holes will be filled and oversprayed as part of a refin. And I'm pretty sure that the Wilko trem unit I got matches the previous 56mm...

    Yeah but no but …

    It is critical to the operation of a two-point vibrato that the pivot screws and threaded inserts are drilled perpendicular to the string path. Thus, the new holes need to be made using a bench press drill.
