WTB semi-acoustic

What's Hot
I'm looking for a semi acoustic. Not really interested in epiphones, played a couple not that impressed, even tried an Eastman and that didn't do it either. So, looking for something like a Fret King or maybe a Hagstrom, but willing to look at other makes. Must be in London, prefer south of the river, easier to get to, but I will go to Bandit Country for the right guitar at the right price. I will want to try before I buy. Cash on collection only.
Cheers

How are you defining Semi-Acoustic?  I would say either Semi-Hollow or Hollow Body, and the two are quite different.

I have a couple of Semi-Hollow’s and a couple of Hollow Bodies.   The Semi Hollows, both PRS, an SE and an S2, started out as solid pieces of wood which were then chambered out before a top was applied.  The Hollows, Epiphone Casino and PRS SE Hollow Body II, are constructed more like an acoustic guitar with laminate top, back and sides.  The PRS has, I believe, a block of wood below the bridge.  Something like a Gibson E355 would be classed as Semi Hollow as, despite being laminate, it has a solid block running right the way through the centre.

I would describe my S2 as sounding more like a solid body with a bit of hollow flavour whereas there’s no mistaking the Casino and the Hollow Body II (my latest addition and which I am loving) as being anything other than ‘hollow’.
