Alternative rock category was full of bland pop acts, WTF has happened to music? Wheres Jarvis Cocker mooning Michael Jackson? best bit so far is the woman twisting her ankle wearing big boots - but its no Dave Grohl falling off stage and carrying on with a broken leg.... Youth of today!

The whole show is a crock o sh*te. The only year I had any time for it was when The Darkness won. Everything else seems to be poncy 'music lite' to me. The kind of limp-wristed lettuce music that NME would probably fawn over. I'd happily use a list of past winners as loo roll.

Mind you, I do still listen to Emerson, Lake & Palmer so one would have to question the validity of my opinion.

My wife just saw War on Drugs appear in their nominees group and said "That's just a bunch of Dad's with guitars, that's what I imagine you lot look like when you are jamming..."

Wolf Alice are utterly ace, Sam Fender pretty darn good, Little Simz a really interesting artist, it ain’t all bad.

Lots of really likeable young artists there, and have to say Ed Sheeran just now played a blinder.

I like Ed’s voice but I can leave the rest, Adele and Ed are just high competence blandness for my ears.

The last one I watched a bit of had James Corden hosting and it made me want to kill him. No idea what any of the music was.

Even when I was young enough to be more of the target audience I was watching it more in hope than expectation.

Yes, I did love Gavin and Stacey, but still.

Prince opening the 2006 Brits with a live medley of 4 songs featuring Wendy & Lisa and Shiela E was the only Brits moment I remember as being brilliant.
