Another New Tool Day

Kity 1637 Planer/Jointer. This used to be mine. It went to my son because, at the time, I didn’t have any use for it, and I wanted the space. He’s not using it, and I wasn’t looking forward to hand planing the wood for the 1Q22 Challenge. So it’s come back. I still don’t have space, but I’ll fit it in somehow.

On the way home I stopped off at Yandles to pick up some new planer blades. I’m now in the process of settling it down. It works well on the Sycamore neck blanks, but there is some tear out on the Yew.

Nice grain on the Sycamore, but unfortunately it’s not dried out yet.
