Where to get wood? (ooh err!)

I’m starting to plan my first scratch build for 35 years after re-kindling my building interest with a couple of partscasters. I’m planning on building a 58 Flying V and looking for recommendations on where to get body and neck blanks of white limba. I’m guessing standard body blanks for making a strat or tele etc won’t be large enough. Back in the 80’s I used to get my wood from Touchstone Tonewoods but the choice on their website is really poor.

Also I saw on guitars and woods the sell specific v blanks. Had good wood from them before.

David Dyke have been really helpful to me over the last week or so, they’re busy at the moment but respond to calls and emails promptly

I bought some PAR sapele boards from Surrey Timbers recently, was in very good shape and well priced. A lot of the yards I’ve dealt with don’t seem to stock lumber in the dimensions required for guitar parts though

I like Surrey Timbers too. A decent selection including some exotics, good advice, and they're happy to help or to leave you be as suits. You will need to sort through things a bit.
