Arturia Analog Lab licence - when buying used gear

Anyone here familiar with how Arturia's software licencing works for used purchases? I'm looking at a Keylab controller to replace my Keystep, and I quite like the idea of using the Analog Lab software as a big Mac-based ROMpler.

I am hoping that it's as simple as the previous owner de-registering the hardware from their Arturia account and then me re-registering it and getting full access to the Analog Lab/etc. Any SNAFUs to be aware of?

(I gather it is possible to transfer Arturia licences, but a search shows quite a few queries and problems.)
