still working, reliably rather than intermittently. Problem solved, perhaps? It feels a bit bright now but I am playing it through HX Stomp patches set up for a Humbucker guitar.

Obviously I underestimated how time-consuming and non-trivial many trivial tasks are when performed infrequently or for the first time but I seem to have a working guitar. Now I need to get the setup close to where it needs to be and then give it to a pro to fine-tune (action is a bit high but intonation is correct, neck relief seems to be ok as well, the nut definitely needs attention.)
