Same here! Back in 2012. I grimaced at paying £1500 for one. The price of a brand new 10 top model now is eye watering. 

They are really at the "Custom" shop price now for a regular Custom 24.

My first DGT cost £1399 s/h.....

I just spoke to a dealer which i cannot say who about the SE DGT. They are taking pre orders now and should be shipping in January.

The specs he had available are:

Rosewood board.
Neck profile is the DGT profile from the core.
tabaco sunburst and gold top as the two colors.

Gold top comes with moons, and sunburst has birds.

Se tuners
Se molded trem
DGT S pickups
Frets: He is getting back to me on this once he hears from PRS.

I did not ask the string spacing or nut but i will ask once he calls me with the fret wire information.

$849 for gold top with moons
$899 for tabaco sunburst with birds"

Sounds great.

I think the thing that saves me from an irrational ‘need’ to get one is that my US DGT is gold & moons. Moons and another colour might have had me contorting myself to justify one!

That's a shame, I'm not cool enough to play a goldtop and I'm not really into bird inlays or tobaccoburst. Used S2 still seeming like a better idea for me then.

I must admit, as a huge prs fan, I didn’t get the dgt. A goldtop with moons will kill it on looks if nothing else. Might be tempted to try again at around £800

I did have one a 10 top at that.
Really love my Gibson Custom shop guitars but might be tempted in the future with one of these.

On paper it sounds immense but it depends on the gold - a lot of the time the type of “goldtop” used on Korean, Chinese or Indonesian instruments tends to not be quite the type of gold you’d want it to be. If it looks classic, it’ll be a winner and I’ll buy one.

I have a 10 top tobacco with birds. I feel that it would be rude not to complete the set.

I just don't know how the hell to justify this to my wife. Maybe I can hide it somewhere... 

I'll have to sell something. A kidney maybe...not another guitar of course.

Those US prices will be before sales taxes so they’ll need factoring in when trying to work out U.K.+vat prices
