What fretboard inlays for a 1 pickup 7 string?

What's Hot
I'm currently making a one pickup 7 string guitar. The fretboard is going to be light colour as I usually do dark fretboards. I'm just trying to think what would make interesting fretboard inlays. Any suggestions? Seen anything that looks cool?

What about black MOP?   This place is interesting as they sell the side dots with it too

You know I may have a really interesting set of red/black dots that I probably wont ever use. Its weird, there seems less way less choice these days for this stuff compared to like five years ago.

This is what those red dots I have look like, red with black streaks in it.

What colour is the guitar going to be?  Maybe just match the inlays to the colour?

Do you mean shape or material?
Shape wise I'm a big fan of inlays that are both fretboard AND sidemarkers, like the below:

If you're just wondering about colour, Ibanez used to do mirror dots, which obviously change colour depending on what is in front of them. A nice alternative to the norm.

Either/both. The one thing I don't want is plain dots.

Those wrap around things do look nice. I recall that STAUS do an LED version that looks super cool [just found them]

I prefer not to have fret markers on the fretboard, side marker yes, but not on the front.

No fret markers at all, apes the minimalist single pickup design

Unfortunately I can't find a suitable LED for that wrap around idea.

It will probably be a small surface mount LED behind a clear plastic or glass insert that fills the cut-out.

Use RGB ones and a couple of wires in a channel and you can have a multi colour controller on your knob...so to speak.

I've done resin ones that go through the side of the fretboard. Cut the pockets in the blank before radiusing or cutting the outline.
