The 1073 was an AML kit - i had a typo - AML not AMS.   They do very good high end kits with superb build instructions but it is not for the feint-hearted !

The 1176 was from a french outfit called Mic&Mods but they only do microphone mod kits now i believe   There are 1176 kits through groupDIY.

the Dual LA2A kit i got through someone on groupDIY.  There are a few sellers on that forum.  I think it was SilentArts.    I had to source the cells from the US though.   Hardware LA2As are amazing compressors.

The dual REDD47 is my best achievement - built from scratch from the original EMI schematics and using transformers from Sowters    Its instant Beatles.   I ought to hire it out really.

You simply cannot beat great outboard - even though software is good too.

Beware though - its a big rabbit hole once you start !!

    Pete,

Thanks - that's some good info.

I think I shall end up building some of this gear at some stage in the future, but I'm about to move house so perhaps not just yet

Did you build full size (19" rack) versions, or 500 Series?

    R.
