Working on fretted drones

Hello everybody.

Lately, I've been having fun working on playing some fretted drones on the guitar as opposed to the open-string drones we often use. I've seen Tim Pierce use a ton of those open-string drones that sound dope, and that made me want to venture into the idea of using fretted strings instead

In this video, I try to explain what I'm doing:

Let me know if you've ever tried things like that and how you work on it.

Happy Sunday,
Claude

Wonderful! I really like the backing track and I;m so glad you've left it plain at the end to jam to! This technique is great and very natural, very good for writing music in general. I wish I had a pedal keyboard to sound drones with my foot but this is the best immediate substitute hah

  • Thanks! Yeah I feel the same about the pedal keyboard. At one point I really wanted a Moog Taurus
