Metal work and pedal board build.

Having recently found a nice sturdy metal case and found it desirably proportioned for containing a pedal board I now wish to build the thing, having thought about it wood will not suffice. What I am really after is advice on how to make one from metal similar to the vertex boards i.e. tiered in part. Does anyone sell kits such as sheets of ideal thickness, easily drilled and attached hinges, brackets etc. or am I going to have to Heath Robinson the whole thing myself?
