I saw a story just a couple of days ago saying that Jay Schellen was standing in for him on the upcoming(?) Yes tour.  There was no hint that he was so seriously ill.  RIP.

Sad news - I was lucky enough to see Yes in the 1970s at their peak. I didn't realise Alan played for John Lennon live and on Imagine and many other tracks. RIP.

I've just been trawling through the whole Yes history and discography on Wikipedia.  I can't think of any other band which has had so many members coming and going and coming back again, splitting into different factions then reuniting.  It's remarkable.

I may have it wrong, but I think Alan White probably spent more time, in total, in the band than anyone else.

Sad news, he wasn't that old. I was a BIG Yes fan for the first half of their career.

I was only thinking about him yesterday after watching a Bill Bruford demo of Simmonds drums on Youtube.

    RIP Alan.

I was a fan of Yes when I was in my teens and probably early 20's - So we are talking about the late 70's and early 80's - I saw them on the Going For The One tour and a later anniversary tour at Wembley - So whilst in recent years I have barely listened to them, such news reminds me of the past - RIP Alan

Really sad news. Thanks for posting up this clip. It's a very magical moment and it's great to see what a cool dude Alan was here. RIP Alan.
