My number one has a floating wilkinson trem.. it locks when the arm drops down and unlocks when lifted..  survives string breaks in tune.  Only ever needed to rely on it twice in gigs in a couple of decades.. rarely break strings

You can get the arm/fittings it as a retrofit for Gotoh/Wilkinson’s strat bridges I believe.

I always have a backup guitar.

    2 guitars - always

2 amps - almost always, unless I know there will be something good there I can use as a backup.

Spare pedal board power supply, cables, strings, valves, tools etc - always.

I’ve broken 2 strings onstage in maybe 1000 gigs. Both on the same guitar (an old Tele I no longer have) in the same song at consecutive gigs. (It was a burr on a saddle).

But I still take 2 guitars and 2 amps as I don’t want the misery of trying to diagnose and fix a problem at a gig. You’re never thinking straight when the adrenalin’s flowing and in any case, it’s  all about getting on with the show.
