I'm a massive Christmas song fan and I'm not afraid to say! The Mariah track is one of my faves and I've listened to the song, aside from the title the claim seems mostly spurious:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61688826At what point are artists safe from prosecution, can words be copyrighted for instance, especially a phrase that's probably been written in a million cards before any song used it. The Mariah Carey song is nearly 30 years old why not sure before now?
As the Beeb article says there are numerous other songs with the same title too, so I'm guessing its a money grab, last roll of the dice. Had a few plays on YT and Spotify like so they do earn some money already.
