Clapton guest appearing at a Dr John show. Wanders across stage, picks up the guitar there. Starts to play. Awful noise. Like the guitar is broken. Carries on throughout the song. Clapton mystified.
Song ends, the good Doctor gets up, walks across and removes the plectrum from between the strings.
Addendum: another master NOLA pianist is Jon Cleary...who is also a pretty fine guitar player...must be in the water...
