Anyone know anything about Guitar Salvage UK?

Has anybody bought anything from this lot? Is it worth a punt or will it be pure shite? I wouldn’t mind a cheap, scruffy old Stat to mess with.

What do you think?

At least they're not asking Essex Recording Studios type prices.

If you had one of these and played it live, and someone shouted "Encore" you would never quite know whether they wanted you to play another song, or perhaps they recognized the donor instrument.

I knew nothing about them until your post, but now I know all I need to know.  Gawd bless 'em, they service a level of demand somewhere so don't sniff too hard.

I’ve seen guitars that looks something like the Strat relic going for effin’ thousands.

The proof would be in how well they play. The idea that someone is trawling the charity shops and converting encores and the like into playable instruments is noble. And the pricing looks fair. Whoever is doing this clearly isn't that profit orientated. It suggest to me someone who enjoys tinkering. Let's hope they know what they are doing and there's people who are going to get cheap decent guitars.
The number of deludeds who think upgrading the pickups with something of equally quality to the original and claiming the guitar is now worth rrp plus is high. This is refreshingly different.
Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

I actually think what they are doing is good, and the prices are OK. If I was local and wanted a inexpensive guitar I would probably check them out. I would love to make a living buying old cheap guitars and giving them a new lease of life..

Hmmm - looks like a good idea for a potential parts resource.
However, a number of their items (bodies) seem to be new.
Based on their inventory, it looks like they're iust starting out.
Overall I'd rate them as "potentially interesting".

At that price, they're not in it for the cash, that's for sure. Let's say £50 for a donor guitar, £20 to £30 in new parts, the labour costs would be at close to min wage per hour. FWIW I think the strat looks cool as far as relics go. Shame they couldn't get the Fender headstock shape in there.
