@wesker123 's Royksopp suggestion was a good match to your vid...'Melody AM' and 'Junior' albums for me.

Don't overlook Underworld as too energetic! You might have to skip the odd track here and there if your pulse rate starts climbing...but it's not all 'Born Slippy' ;)

Quite a lot of u-Ziq is frantic of drum but mellow overall.

    Same goes for Orbital too.

I've just stumbled onto a Steve Hillage record that the Orb lifted a bunch of guitar samples from. To save you the 32 years it took me from when I first found the Orb, the Hillage record is called 'Green' - track named 'Ether Ships'.

There. My good deed for the day

'Green' - and any Hillage - is superb.

The early System7 stuff still sounds good.

I love System7 - have done for a long time. 777 is still my favourite.

I've been listening to a lot of their records lately, probably accounts for the Hillage wormhole opening up!

I've just discovered Oasis Sky by Tor

Mostly listened because it had a cool picture on the cover

I wouldn't call this 'electronica' but chilled it is. Gilmouresque guitars in a most sublime chillscape. I've only just stumbled upon it.

  • What you posted sounds a lot like what Four Tet and Bicep are doing.

    Other similar stuff:

Global Communication - 76:14 in particular
    Massive Attack
    Air
    Future Sound of London
    B12
    The Egg
    Nightmares on Wax
    The Orb
    Royksopp
    Sabres of Paradise
    Sasha
    Seefeel
    Luke Slater's 7th Plain
    Speedy J
    System 7
    Timeshard
    Children of the Bong
    Ultramarine
    Zero 7
    Max Cooper
    Rival Consoles

There are also some mix cds in the Euphoria range that have mixes of chill versions of old trance tunes.

    Chilled Euphoria
    Chilled Out Euphoria
    Deep and Chilled Euphoria
Loads of goodness to explore there @Haych - can I just throw in a band that sound very similar to the track in the OP - Thievery Corporation - they have a deep catalogue of albums and mixes - there style moves between electronica, dub, Tropicalia, hip hop....... They pull in some interesting guest vocalist from across the world music scene but also some big names like David Byrne and Wayne Coyne -  I think Richest Man in Babylon. and the Cosmic Game are there two most consistent albums......

I am going to throw in these gigs from YouTube that I've had on in work today -

Early Aphex Twin (Analoge Bubblebath, selected ambient works vol 1).
..but stop there. If I'd bought "The Richard D. James Album" or the "Come To Daddy" EP expecting chillout music I'd have been bitterly disappointed.

Quite partial to Kruder & Dorfmeister's "The K&D Sessions Vol.1" (I don't think there was ever a volume 2) if you like the jazzier end of the chillout spectrum.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.
