He's taking a lot of flak in his old age, which I find disappointing considering the back catalogue he has provided over the years, but I wouldn't £100+ to see him either...I'd just buy all the CDs.

There's that. My friend had tickets to see The Eagles in Liverpool. When I asked the ticket price he told me about £125.00 each for him and his missus. My response was like yours - £250.00 buys a LOT of CDs and lasts a bit longer than a couple of hours.
