Tele jack plate - e’socket or rectangular?

Got a used ash body arriving this week. It’ll need a jack plate. There’s a bit of notable damage/chipped off poly around jack plate hole so I thought a LP type curved rectangular plate might be a good idea. Are the electrosocket ones better/more stable?

I have two teles, one with an e socket and the other Les Paul style. Both good, solid. Some right angle plugs don’t fit the e socket as it’s recessed into the body. Other than that it’s just down to physical appearance.

Presumably you don’t need the old school retainer clip wedged into the hole with rectangular one?

No mine is just 4 screws into the body like on a Les Paul.

Bear in mind that standard Tele bodies are actually *flat* at the jack hole, not curved like a Les Paul...

Most les paul jack sockets are plastic and are made flat anyway. 

Even the metal ones are only slightly curved, and often flatten out when scewed down, or can be flattened in a vise first

I like LP style plates on my Teles.
