Nitro refinish repair job

What's Hot
First post on the forum and it's a weird one..

I have a professionally-sprayed nitro tele body which I stored this summer in the loft, wrapped in bubble-wrap. I took it down this afternoon and the heatwave has left a legacy in the form of bubble-wrap marks in the heat-softened finish.

I love the body and would love to fix it. Any suggestions? Could I just sand it out and buff it etc.? I'm not a seasoned home-repair luthier by any means, so any advice very welcome!

Thanks,
Dom

This will sand out, after that it can be buffed. Take it to a professional finisher to sort out though. They’ll be able to gauge the appropriate wet and dry paper to start with thus making the buffing process easier.

For future storage avoid the attic for anything guitar related and wrap in acid free tissue paper before wrapping in bubble wrap.
