I got a bargain PRS SE Hollowbody II from Andertons - display model, last one they had and its grubby but no dings or dents - and it's quite remarkable.

Despite needing new strings - which were promised but not sent! - it really does sound as good as any hollowbody guitar I've played including a proper ES330 and far better than several Casinos.  Its warm and sweet with the volume and tone down and it rocks like a bastard with a bit of gain.

Its also light and so comfortable to play, as well as being soooo well made.

Brilliant to the point where I would say to anyone considering a hollow bodied guitar, try one of these before you buy anything else.

    No free strings?? :p
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

PRS quality takes the piss (in a good way) (unless you are a rival manufacturer). Congrats

I sold mine and miss having one around.

Almost bought one from Bax a couple of weeks ago when they were selling them cheap, but as usual I procrastinated and missed out.

I think someone on here has my old one now.

    Brilliant guitars, congrats!

If the guitar came with a gigbag, check all of the zip-up compartments. Stuff might be lurking in there.

  • I love the look of that. I'd give some consideration to one of those if I could bring myself to part with some.

I have been through a number of expensive, and less expensive, hollow bodies over the last two years and they have all been returned or sold.  I wonder if it's because this was a shop floor model and it's been played a bit that's making it so good out of the box.

I think that the only thing that would improve this, well the only two things which would improve it, would be a P90 at the neck and nicer looking knobs.

I also expect it to sound better after a good clean up.....

    Completely agree.

I’ve had mine (grey) for a couple of years now.  Probably my most played electric in that time.  So versatile.

Just wish I’d waited until the piezo equipped variant had been released - that would have been even more versatile!
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

The Standards are mahogany laminate so a little bit darker and sweeter than the maple laminate, but essentially the same.

I didn't pay much more than that...
