OH NO!!!!!!!  I absolutely adored Nazareth.  We lost Manny earlier this year... this news is so hard to bear.

Just bloody heartbroken.  RIP Dan. X

  • That's sad news. A part of my life in the seventies as well. A great band

I saw them quite a few times in my teens. The first time was supporting Rory Gallagher at the Victoria Hall Hanley in early 1972. .

    It's not a competition.

    How sad, bless you Dan.

What a voice, rest in well earned peace.

  • Just seen the news. One of my first albums, one of my first gigs and I still listen to Dan from time to time. Some excellent tracks over the years and one of the great voices in rock music. IIRC he retired years ago, quick Google says with COPD and stomach ulcers so not in the best of health for the last ten years. Sad. RIP.

  • Sad news. One of Fife's finest front men. We rehearse at Substation in Rosyth near Dunfermline and I always notice the Nazareth flight cases that are stored there. RIP Dan.

Bloody hell, it's been a bad week for losing iconic people.
"This Flight Tonite (sp)" was anthemic & as far from Joni Mitchell's version as possible.
    RIP big man.

That’s terrible.. Love a bit of Nazareth. What a band. What a voice..! RIP
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

  • Love hurts ... and I'm gutted.
Dan ... you were THE man in my youth.
The glass of bead beside me will not numb my grieving ... your dulcet tones are forever.
    Sleep well.

Sad news. One of my favourite bands in my formative years, I had the pleasure of seeing them live on a couple of occasions, Dan was a great singer. RIP.
