Teles: Mex neck, MIJ body... Likely to work?

Sorry it's a lame question and I know that measurements from the chap selling the neck will help, but I don't have a digital thingy to accurately measure the pocket of my MIJ Custom and don't want to fork out for the neck if I'm going to have to a) sell it on or b) butcher it to get it to fit...

Are the necks and pockets more or less identical across the MIJ/MIM/USA ranges do you think?

In my experience, a Fender neck fits a Fender body.

I stuck an MIJ (s/h) neck on a 1972 Fender body and the screw holes lined up perfectly. I've put MIM necks on Jap bodies in the past and everything was cool.

Answering specifically this part of the question.

American Standard necks and pockets are slightly wider than vintage specifications. The necks usually have a Micro Tilt pressure plate insert on the underside of the heel.
