    @BGG and @PC1971 i notice both of yours have extremly dark chcolate coloured fretboards. I have a first year 2008 with the same and wondered if there is any inference these early ones were Brazilian or not, having owned a vintage Gibson mine looks an feels an aweful lot like it is. Almost ebony like and smooth with hardly visible very tight grain

    To be honest Simon, I have no idea but my '09 is pretty close to your description. pc ;-)
