On February 1, 1994, I had the pleasure of interviewing Bert Jansch, who'd just completed making Acoustic Routes with his blues hero Brownie McGhee. The day before the interview, I called John Renbourn, who since the early 1960s had played with Bert on solo projects and in the internationally renowned band Pentangle.
