freeze LED problems

I just got an ehx freeze off here that's been playing up. when it first arrived, the LED was dead. but when i opened it up and took a peek inside, it started working again. now it's stopped lighting up again. What do I do? pedal gurus? @handsomerik

opened it up and gave it some random pokes and its working again.......

It'll almost certainly be a bad solder joint, most likely where the LED is soldered to the PCB (assuming it's not hand wired).

It will need resoldering.

i opened it up and the LED solder joint looks very firm, would it be worth it to pass an iron over anyway? @jpfamps

Yes.

With the lead-free solder it's very hard to see dry joints as they all generally look terrible.

A good diagnostic technique is to manipulate the joint with a wooden chopstick (or something similar) and see if this makes a difference.
