Happy New Year and welcome to the 22nd Poopot's Cover Challenge

The winner of our last challenge @thecolourbox ;;has spoken and chosen our track for the letter I



I'll be there by The Jackson 5


That's right. If that's not your bag then you can record any track starting with the letter I

But… if you cover the chosen track you will automatically receive a bonus 5pts as a head start

Please comment in the thread when you've sent an entry.

You may wish to submit artwork to go with your entry. It brightens up the playlist and might subliminally get you more votes but it's not mandatory.

Thanks again @flying_pie for all the admin, cat herding, and for the excellent advice regarding avoiding potential hassle from Marvin Gaye's estate when choosing the song.

Hopefully people don't hate the song choice.

There are a lot of songs that start with I, so don't worry there will be plenty others to choose from

Hmm, not a fan of the cheese, so though Id trawl youtube for a rock cover version of that to inspire me, but there werent any. 

Thought this would be good inspiration - but not a cover of the original..

I didn't really see it as cheese, I just quite like Motown so that must be my cheese achilles heel - but having now looked at covers then yes people do seem to go for cheese. That said, the last two challenges were Mariah Carey and Cindi Lauper, so I'm not alone in my cheese by the sounds of it

I'm looking forward to giving it a go as well as one of my others from the shortlist I made. It's hard to choose something

Is it just me or is I possibly one of the best letters or there? There are so many seriously good tracks starting with it

It's all about theatre and suspense.

I'm always tempted to disclose what I have planned, in the hope that nobody will come up with the same idea and beat me to it.

I had to confess in the 'G' round when @Bezzer publicly wondered if anyone was doing 'Goldfinger'. In the 'H' round I didn't even know most of the songs.

Sod it. Decided to record a quickie tonight and get a playlist started.

Just a single take with my wife's Ovation Applause straight into a Boss GT001, a single take live vocal and a tiny bit of piano and strings

  I'm planning on doing a slow paced piano ballad cover of the main chosen track, with an experimental vocal. If I get time.
