Two of my all-time favourite guitarists, and the track samples sound great - so cheers for the alert @Fretwired - that's one album I will be buying soon as. :)

@Megii .. I'm a big Mike Stern fan as well and Eric Johnson's made some decent albums. I will also be buying it when it's released.

In the meantime there's always this ..

Nice video, cheers @Fretwired - I have not seen that before. I saw Mike Stern a couple of times in Leeds (Scofield 2 or 3 times also) in the mid-late 80s and have been a fan of his since around then. One of those people I've listened to for so long that I do go through periods when I almost kind of forget about them, but it's always good to remind oneself of an old enthusiasm, and why one had it in the first place. He has such a distinctive style - one of those people you just have to hear a few notes, and you know who it is. I love how he still uses his "1980s" chorus and distortion tones as well - it's kind of his tone now, and why not - still sounds great to me.

Possibly 2 of the most grating guitar tones on earth imho. shame as Mike has some very nice lines.

  • This could be interesting just seeing the two names on the sleeve.

I recently bought Eric Johnson's "Venus Isle" album, sensational!

I love EJ's tone. Stern's is bearable but when he goes picking near the bridge then it does get very trebly/chorusy for me. Way too much.

Good album .. mine arrive to day signed by Mike and Eric ... seems to be the in thing. Pretty good blues rock album with some tasty playing and some decent vocalists. Sounds like they've been listening to Robben Ford CDs .. :-)
