Structure:

Record your solo over the top of it and then submit it (ideally in mp3 format) to solos@theFB.co.uk

Also, feel free to comment on how you approached the solo, which will add a bit more interest and maybe we can learn something from each other.

There should be headroom to record your solo. Try to set a level without excessive master limiting, because we want to avoid loudness wars.

Voting will start soon after the submission deadline, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.

First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point

The order and scores of the top three entries will be announced soon after the voting ends.

No prizes. It's just for fun.

First off, what a beautiful backing track by @digitalkettle - I found this a very inspiring piece, and knew exactly what I was going to aim for on the very first listen.

Recorded in two sections, it took about 30 takes for the first part (including trying different open tunings), and the second part was done on the 4th take.

PRS Tremonti SE -> Boss GT 001 -> Reaper with only EQ and reverb added

Recorded in two sections - first with bridge pickup for melodic start and second with neck pickup and less gain/stereo delay for bluesy noodle

Another top notch backing track

Managed to find a couple hours in between DIY this evening to knock one out.

After I'd done that,  I recorded a quick last minute entry .
