    It's cheap when you think a 'masterbuilt' today costs £8k plus like this. I spoke to Jay when I bought the guitar and he assured me he built it entirely on his own, no assistants, no Jay Nelson spraying the finish for him. He only built 4 other guitars that month, nowadays they produce 30 plus a month.

    When you say he built it, and "masterbuilt" etc, is it still CNC, or do they do all the woodwork by hand?

    No CNC back then....thats why he was only building 3 or 4 a month. Companies like MB, Danocaster and SVL today will produce more...but then again they mostly buy their raw bodies/necks in then fettle them to taste.
