Future Islands - the weirdest frontman ever?

What's Hot
You decide? They were on Jools Holland last night, so will be on again this Friday. I feel weird watching it.

    Some impressive Dad dancing there.

He sounds like one of the One Direction idiots on those shred videos.

Looks like a morph of Norman Wisdom and Robbie Williams dancing like Jim Kerr from Simple Minds after 10 pints.

  • I think he needs to be in a hardcore band. Let it out, man!

When you watch it for the first time you think the guy's a right wally. When you've watched it for the fifth time you realise it's genius. He's ramped it up a bit since the performance on Letterman:

It was a great performance and a good song I thought.

The latest album is pretty decent. There's not much growling on it either! That's reserved for the live performances which I think are great.

  • Wow. Remember that "DRUMMER AT WRONG GIG" video?

That singer's at the wrong gig! I don't think he's the weirdest frontman ever, he's just in the wrong band... Ha! His vocal totally suits the style of music and then I see him moving around the stage... and it just stops fitting! For me, his moves are somewhat more captivating than the music. I don't know how I feel about that.

I thought it was a good performance too. The music would normally be too bland for my taste, but his stage-presence makes for compulsive viewing...

  • It was great, but I thought the bass player looked more out of place than anyone.  He looks like he was zapped in from a time machine from 1972 and he seems to be glancing cautiously around like he's wondering where everybodies hair went and why they're playing this song.

He can't hold pitch… at all… am I alone in hearing this?! I watching about a minute of the performance (on the BBC) in disbelief at how terrible his singing is.

@thisisguitar Nope, rubbish holiday park singer at best imo, serious hints of Vic Reeve's guess the song round too.  Watched them on Jools and thought he definitely isn't good enough to be drawing such attention to himself with that weird dancing/whatever it is.
