Does this Telebird need a Vibrola?

What's Hot
Only just got around to putting this old bird together. Still needs some fine tuning but I am pleasantly surprised at how good it plays and sounds.

I am going to strip it and see what it looks like  eau naturel, but I also feel like it needs something else... Maybe a vibrola?

I believe it was sprayed without any grain filling by the look of it.

  • For me personally, I would stick a scratchplate on it and be done with it.

Oh and I’d swap the knobs for the knurled metal ones you get on a Tele.

    Vibriola…not my thing.

    Cool guitar

Vibrola would look fab. I’ve got a Vintage SG with a Vibrola (Proshop prototype). The Wilkinson Vibrola is very good, has ironed out some of the kinks found on the Gibson units.  Different sound to a Bigsby, has its own unique thing going on.

As much as I love a Bigsby, they don’t seem to work on a Firebird. They just look wrong. The body angles mean you can’t use a B7, so have to use a B5 or B50.  Just looks wrong on this body shape.

Been gassing for a Firebird lately, no idea why.

    I agree @TheMarlin ;

Can I buy the Wilkinson vibrola separately?

I think I would keep it as is but maybe try photo shopping an image of a vibrola onto an image of the guitar and see if that works, live with the image for a few days

A vibrola would look good but they’re shite trems.

I’d consider a long bigsby- b7 (or b3 if the geometry could work)?

    Vibrola. Long body one....

Bigsby trems are dreadful things and would just look like a lump of motorcycle bolted to the front of it.

Or, a Jazzmaster style trem would look awesome and fit the vibe -

Thanks, I’m looking to do a satin relic tele body. Does the halfords satin paint relic/ damage in a nice way?

What about some cool aged yellow binding? Have always loved the black body and yellowed binding look. Probably why I love my Fender Aerodyne so much.
