Need your love so bad solo analysis?

A lot of blues rock is just pentatonic and this doesn't seem to be that.

It seems to be based on 'shape 3' of the pentatonic scale of A major, but then some of the notes of that scale don't really fit to my ear.

Can anyone explain in relatively simple terms what the soloing approach is here?

Does it have something to do with this?

Substituting a major 6th instead of the flat 7?

It uses the hybrid A major/minor pentatonic: 1 2 b3 3 4 5 6 b7 (A B C C# D E F# G)

At one of our regular gigs we did this once and now it’s the most requested number at the venue. Absolute scorcher.
