Blue LEDs

What's Hot
Everyone loves a blue LED in a pedal, but apparently they've just given the Nobel Prize to them, so they're *officially* better :)

I think it's not possible to have too many blue LEDs on your gear. It would be nice if they could be made duller though. I have one on a DVD player which, even when I've stuck a bit of black insulating tape over it, is still bright enough to light up a darkened room.

They used to be really cool when they first appeared, but now more often than not they're the sign of some cheap Chinese piece of crap, so I don't really like them.

The blue LEDs I have on some of my pedals are blinding.  I've had to cover some of them with nail varnish to dull them a bit...

I do prefer green ones. But I still love that blue ones have got a Nobel :)

    That eerie green glow..

It may be time to discuss the tonal advantage of different coloured LEDs on TGP...

I have them on my EVH wah (standard fitment)

Compared to red, as on my other pedals, they doo look cool.

I think if they're on evrything they would lose the cool factor.

Personally I have a load of pedals with red LED's, blue's a nice, cool change.

The big contribution of blue LEDs is not showing off how many boutique and modded pedals you have on your board, but the fact they can be used with green and red LEDs to produce white light. Without this we wouldn't have smartphones, iPads, flatscreen TVs (OK I know other light technologies are used in TVs) and fantastic bike lights!

Red was the only colour you could get for ages don't know why you'd prefer that. Reminds of old cock radios.

Quite so, Blue eluded them for quite a long time!

My old status bass had blue LEDs

my new status bass has orange LEDs that flash

my chapman stick has green LEDs

Presumably, young cock's were permitted to listen too. ;)

I bought some purple LED's for my own builds, and they are much less offensive (may actually be too dim for some) as they get toward UV. Still look pretty cool though.
