These were only made in Japan for a year or so in the late 90's. For the life of me I cant understand why, they were great little guitars.

i bought this around 8 years ago, my late brother jumped on it and pressured me into selling it to him, which I did.

It came with EMG pickups from the previous owner, my brother installed new pups and a new loom, I will have to check but I think it has a Rolling Mills bridge and an Alegree P90 in the neck. At some point he had a splitable HB at the neck and the pots are push pull.

It is in great condition with a couple of dings, the top is beautiful. The frets have the normal but very nominal wear around the cowboy chords. 

the neck is slim and comfortable to play, has 9's on it at present because Colin was finding it more and more difficult to fret properly as his ilness took hold.

I have thought long and hard about selling this but to be honest I now find myself with a few too many guitars.

The AR700 has been increasing in value as there are not too many about.

I lived near Freshwater west for 3 years around 1999, got dragged around the country after that because of my partners work before settling in New Quay this year.

It wil be right up @HarrySeven's street I would think

One week later and, despite being tagged, H7 has not commented in this Discussion. 

I know that July is one of the peak periods at his workplace. 

I also know that he fetishises the early Eighties Ibanez Artist and Yamaha SG guitars that were available in his teens over any later variants.

Correct on all counts.

However, funds are being diverted elsewhere at present.

By reputation that surely means that, somewhere out there, a guy selling a nine string guitar made of MDF and strung with chicken wire is seriously happy.

Nice guitar that. I have an '81 AR100 which I've owned for 30 years now, and it still plays great.
