Slow Cooker problem

I may have mentioned this before, but I've forgotten so....

I've pretty much given up on my slow cooker and consigned it to the cupboard under the sink as everything I ever try cooking in it comes out with a horrible overpowering metallic tang to it.  The bowl is glazed ceramic and the lid is glass (with the exception of a metal rim around the edge).  I'm googling for more info, but I was just wondering if anyone here has experienced the same issue ?

Not at all, Emp. I recently made the tastiest ever lamb & veg stew in mine.

What do you clean it with, and do you rinse it well afterwards?

Onions and garlics both develop metally tastes if cooked for ages, so it'll probably be that.

Too right. My onions are always listening to Metallica, Sabbath, etc.

If anyone asked me which forum member was bound to have a slow cooker, I'd have said Emp.

Edit: A prevaricating cooker.
