Mayo seems to be unafraid of playing slightly random stuff... I listen to his movies podcast (Mayo and Kermode's film review). 

They regularly play random songs at the end, including Lamb of God last month!

I'll say what I always say about Zappa, which if you are you-tubing then consider Zappa Plays Zappa as some of the original Zappa footage is a bit hard on the eyeballs. It also gives more of an overview of the material and is played by a lot of the original musicians ( excluding Frank obviously). If you then want to get into Frank's playing style rather than the compositions you'll need to go to the albums as source. Also consider Steve Vai's FlexAble - the most accessible Zappa album that Frank never made!
