I am trying to switch out the speaker in my amp, but have been thwarted by these nuts...



I bought a nut driver / nut spinner set - didn't work. The shaft obviously needs to be hollow to get over the screws. Is this an American sizing? What am I doing wrong?

Use a spanner, like the one in the picture. You only need to get the nut loose by about one turn before it will spin easily with your fingers.

@ICBM Hey man, got the 55hz speaker so was itching to get it in. Thought even pliers would do it, but it’s so fiddly. Annoyingly it appears to be some ‘in-between’ US size? Have spoken to my amp tech and he might have a tool that can do it. Frustrating.

Wouldn’t grip. Should have my 9mm driver to get it off soon, though.

Wrap a little sandpaper around the nut and try the adjustable again?

Can't thank @RiftAmps enough. Correct tool arrived today. Took 10 minutes. Saved me a trip to a tech, and some cash too no doubt. Thanks!
