How much is your Council Tax ?

What's Hot
Emp_FabEmp_Fab Frets: 24694
I'm forced to hand over £161 a bloody month to "The City & County of Swansea" so their binmen can drop shit all over the road, refuse to take an ever increasing bizarre list of items and fat-arsed councillors to go on jollies to 'twinned' towns in Europe.

£161 a month !!! ... and it goes up each year !

I'm renting a house in Band E.  It's only just in Band E and I tried to get them to lower it, but they basically said "Fuck off, we need the money for a fact-finding trip to Turkey and by the way, we're twinning with the Maldives next year".

Bastards.

No idea as my renters pay it. Too much for the torture Ilsington council inflicts on residents and businesses.

I really don't get the banding idea...a family of 4 in a 3 bed house use the same quantity of services as a family of 4 in a five bed house.

£130 pm. Bins emptied once per fortnight.

Mind you, even after recycling, the amount of rubbish these four generate is unreal, so I use the local tip quite a bit.

This rakes up the old; ability to pay vs size of your pad vs services used argument,

Persactly. Taxation should be based on ability to pay, not the perceived value of the place you live in. Extra services used can be paid for on use.

This is where direct debit is such a blessing because the thought of physically handing over such a large chunk of your monthly budget in cash to some money grabbing, corrupt bunch of tossers like our local council would drive me nuts.
