Cup of tea before brushing teeth, or after?

In the morning, when you drag yourself from your pit of a bed, walk downstairs or through to your cozy little kitchen - all whilst wearing that awful blue fluffy bathrobe that you should've thrown out years ago because it would shame even Tony Soprano into enlisting - do you pop the kettle on, go and brush your teeth, and THEN drink your first of twelve cups of tea that day... or do you drink your first cup of tea and THEN brush your teeth afterwards?

It's an important question. I'd prefer no jolly antics please.

I use the downstairs bathroom of a morning as not to wake everyone so as it is next to the kitchen, i put the kettle on and then brush my teeth. I then have a drink usually Coffee.

Tea first, toothpaste just before I leave the house. 40mins journey to work then another cuppa.

Usually teeth first, although with one bathroom between up to 5 people you get in when you spot a window of opportunity.

This question obviously seems confusing for any teachers as they are contractually obliged to drink 8 cups of coffee, smoke 10 cigarettes and down a shot of Bells whisky after every teeth brushing.

Up, feed the cats, make lunch, have breakfast inc tea, brush teeth, shave, shower, dress then out the door.

No coffee ever, You may as well shit in a cup and add hot water.

I find that tea tastes horrible with mint flavour in your mouth! 

I clean my teeth at 6.20am, but don't drink my first tea till about 11.00am, after run, gym, 50 lengths swim and a couple of hours of work.

Dentist, and dental hygienist, both say: Brush your teeth when you get up. Then have your breakfast. Then maybe a mouthwash after breakfast.

Having a tea at home is wasting valuable sleep time. That's an extra 10mins you could of had in bed.

This. There's hardly anything that tastes better when you've a mouth full of the taste of toothpaste.

Tea is for London ponces.  Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee and another coffee and I brush my teeth when they feel dirty.  What remains of them anyway.  Hell I don't even shower most mornings and my white bed sheets are brown and you ask a question like this?  You lot are weird.

I usually have more important things on my mind in the morning, like which finger to amputate from septicaemia.
