HDMI and amp switching

I have an older Harmon Kardon, AV amp, that switches all of my sources, ATV, Bluray, Xbox, Sky.

Now the price of 4k screens is coming down (I wish OLED would be in the same range), I'm thinking my 42" is looking
a bit small and may be time to upgrade, but will I also have to upgrade my AV amp, or do HDMI switching units not really care
about what is fed into them (assuming I switch off up scaling)

I dont get it...does your existing amp switch hdmi ?

You need an amp that does HDMI pass through.

Yes it switches HDMI, but it is quiet old. 4k uses the HDMI2.0 standard so the questions is (up scaling in the AV receiver aside), will the amp switch regardless of HDMI standard, or will it fail to pass through HDMI 2.0 content

Do you have a source with an HDMI 2.0 out? If not, don't worry about it
