Hi Everyone.
There's an item I quite fancied on Gumtree and contacted the seller about it. Still for sale , good price etc. Had a nice email from them and so far everything seems legit and was going to contact them later on today to do the deal.
Just had an email from Gumtree advising that they suspect the seller is involved in suspicious activity / breaching their terms of use.
I've spoken to the seller by both txt and email - nothing seems suspicious.
Should i just cut my losses and run away from the sale?
Am i at any risk in any way?

If you are collecting and the seller can prove ownership you should be OK
If you are getting something sent then I would forget it.
I was planning to collect as it's about ten minutes away from my office.
If i decide to go ahead might take a friend with me just in case "Laura" turns out to be a scary bloke who's planning on battering me over the head for the sake of £50 and stealing my car keys.
"Laura" might just turn out to be a nubile young lady, with massive norks who's gagging for it.
Or might be a big scary lady who just want to sell you something.

In either situation I'm probably the best placed Fretboarder to execute the deal.......

Yeah take back up or walk away from the deal.
I guess it depends what the nature of the suspicious activity is? Fencing stolen goods? A scammer? Or worse!
What is it you're buying? Is it too good a deal to turn down?
Let us know how you get on and if you need to change you user name from gubble to gullible if the deal goes south!
Laura is a well known shemale...
Buyer beware !
Then he could change his name to 'Gobble'

Actually Gubble hasn't been heard from since.
I'm hoping it's cos of my first suggestion rather than he's been mugged and had his car keys stolen.

I'm alive !!!!
Not heard back from the seller. I've come up with my own theory that she's a disgruntled ex selling off the boyfriend's stuff.
Ah well write it off as something that wasn't meant to happen
