Now this might not translate as I know him and you don't but....I shall try.

He is the most gentile gentle polite Indian guy you will ever meet-

He's very old school Indian if that doesn't sound too racist-  about 60, a professional cricket statistician, studious, thick horn rimmed specs....

He also has a vinyl collection of over 400,000 items including some worth thousands and is an authority on rock and roll through to say the new romantic era.

Anyway, I have never heard him swear, say a bad thing about anyone or be judgmental in any way at all. Condemnation is alien to him and he'd even find the best in Atilla the Hun during a full moon.

His Facebook status tonight reads:

"These Apprentice people- they should all be boiled in their own puddings!!"

I absolutely pissed myself laughing.

yup I'd remove his name but I work with a fair few gentle Indian people when they do have something forceful to say their turn of phrase is often funny

400,000 items of vinyl?!

Even if they were all singles - ie 800,000 tracks - that's roughly two and a half million minutes of music, or over four and a half years of listening 24hrs a day and never repeating a song. Or up to ten times that if most of them are albums...

And at least 1200m - almost a mile - of shelf space!

We had home made rice pudding t'other day. Wifey somewhat misjudged the actual amount of pudding rice required. We've enough to feed the bloody street.

@icbm I'll try and get some pics of his collection. When he described it to be I was in disbelief until he showed me pics. He has some real rarities- gatefold Diamond Dogs, Peaches Airplay edition, and dome pieces that number less than 250 pressings
