About 20 years ago my Nana RIP left me a small inheritance and I wanted to get something to remember her by - Always wanted a decent acoustic so went to London to try a few out Gibsons, Martins, Lowdens and Taylors. I settled on a Martin D-28 but it was a vey close run thing with a Lowden a very close second - I've played it to death and still do everyday. Recently I was remembering my trip to London and always looked out for Lowdens every so often. A couple of weeks ago I was going to a New Order gig - UK Train strike so decided to drive - Farnham is on the way so I thought i pop in to Guitar Village. I tried a few Lowdens and completely fell in love with an O-22 - the guy in the shop aksed me if I wanted it today and I said I couldn't but would be back soon (it was £3.7k - a lot to think about). The next morning, ears still ringing after the show, all I could think about was the O-22 so I thought as I drove back home I'd better check it out and see If it really was THAT good. I really couldn't believe my eyes when I arrived at Guitar Village - "My" Lowden was part of the "Manager's gone mad" sale 25% off so reduced to £2.7k - it was meant to be right?
