I wonder how many more kids would have been interested in music/playing an instrument, if UK schools had had lessons like this in the 60s & 70s?

I shared this on the John Marshall R.I.P thread - it's a film of Soft Machine doing their thing from the archive of the Inner London Education Authority (who?) - It was for secondary school students and was presented, directed and produced by teachers from the ILEA & ex-broadcasters / trainees in their spare time. Can you image? "Today children we're going to learn some Soft Machine". Bring it on, all I had was a non musical 'music teacher' slaughtering Yesterday on a knackered old piano. Oh and playing recorders with your nose.
