Look at the state of my bedroom... PMSL

Over the years, stuff people have bought me ‘cos I play the guitar has invariably been of no use whatsoever.

Hell, loads of the stuff I’ve bought myself has been of no use whatsoever!

I agree with others, best gifts would be 1. Money 2. Money 3. Beer.

    :-)
Beer works for me, I'd just spend the money on beer anyway

  • I just remembered that once, as an actual Christmas present from a close relative, I got given about 12 of the free tutorial cds that used to be given away on the covers of various guitar magazines.

Not including the magazine you understand, just a pile of these cds of people playing random disembodied riffs. From magazines that probably came out over a decade before. They'd wrapped them up, mind.

I think the person must have seen them in a charity shop and they said 'guitar techniques' or wherever on them, so they went for it. I guess it must have cost them about 25p. Totally baffled as to why they thought I'd want them. It was just weird.

Probably not one for your list, eh.

G7 capo. Most people will have a capo but not a a G7 capo (which work differently) but if they do have a G7 capo they can give to someone who doesn’t have a G7 capo next Christmas.

    All perfectly simple :-)

    Spiced rum.

Not my normal drink, but after two large spiced rums last night my guitar playing was awesome!  Who knew that a simple drink could have a better effect than decades of actual practice?

If it returns to it's normal, slightly disappointing level tonight, should I apply more spiced rum?

    I'm a big fan.

    It definitely helps.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

  • Two bottles of swing top beer.

You get two very handy and quite effective straplocks. And beer.

If Aunty Mildred gets the the wrong beer without the red rubber grommets/straplocks at least you still have the beer.

    That's amateur shit.

This is on special offer at the moment:

Companero Panama Extra Anejo Rum : The Whisky Exchange

It is 54% though. Takes the breath away a bit!

Honestly this is a great suggestion! Unless they're celiac or teetotal, obvs!
