When I attempt anything like that there's always that bum note which I'll hear for another seven repeats just to rub it in.

That's guitar plugged into Pod Go ... then that's connected via USB to my Mac. Then I just start Quicktime and hit record and the audio from the Pod goes onto the video that Quicktime is recording. I don't bother editing or anything, just hit record and play the thing live. 

Doing it this way is very quick, that video took less than 10 mins to do.
