Bit of a re-think

  • How's the AMT pedal you have with an overdrive in front of it?

Could you get "your sound" from?
    Wah > Phaser > OD > AMT > Delay > Delay > Loop?

Is the "clean" sound straight into the loop workable? I'm just thinking that less pedals might make the tap-dancing easier?

If not, go the other way, get/build some kind of triple-looper, so that you have a chain for each sound:

    Wah > Looper Input

    Loop 1 (Clean) > Phaser > Delay > Clean Pre-Amp

    Loop 2 (Rhythm) > Dirty Pre-Amp

    Loop 3 (Lead) > Lead Pre-Amp > Delay > Delay

    It obviously involves more pedals

I guess a hybrid is to have a switch box with three loops for the levels of dirt, and two for the effects (Phase, and the two delays).

If you laid it out well, you'd be able to stomp on multiple buttons with one kick, so could do the changes you mentioned, and all the buttons will be in the same place, same type, same height etc.

    Food for thought anyway!

  • @digitalscream See my post under the direct recording thread in the Studio section. Suffice to say that, after you steered me towards AMT, I bought the ss11-a and would have thought it will do exactly what you want. Clean, crunch and lead in one pre-amp. Changing the nasty russian tubes for something nicer eliminates all the fizz too (I have now found). Only on Day 2 with this thing but am somewhat blown away
